Focused one-on-one instruction

Ground instruction built around your goal

You do not need to buy a one-size-fits-all classroom course. Tell us what you are working toward, and we can spend the session on the knowledge and decision-making that will help you most.

New student foundation

Build context for your early flight lessons with aircraft controls and systems, airport operations, airspace, radio communications, weather, regulations, and basic risk management.

FAA knowledge test prep

Review missed concepts, connect memorized answers to real flying, and focus study time on the areas where you need a clearer explanation.

Checkride oral preparation

Practice explaining regulations, aircraft documents and systems, performance, weather, cross-country planning, airworthiness, and aeronautical decision-making.

Cross-country planning

Work through route selection, airspace, weather products, fuel planning, performance calculations, navigation, alternates, and practical go/no-go decisions.

Flight review ground topics

Review current Part 91 operating rules and sharpen knowledge that may have faded since your last period of regular flying.

Targeted topic review

Bring a difficult subject, an upcoming lesson, or questions from independent study. We can build a focused session around that specific need.

How a focused ground lesson works

1. Tell us your goal

Let us know whether you are preparing for a written test, checkride, flight review, upcoming lesson, or simply trying to understand a difficult subject.

2. Identify the gaps

We will start with your questions, study results, lesson history, or areas of uncertainty so the time is spent where it matters.

3. Build practical understanding

The goal is not just to recognize the right answer. We connect the material to real decisions you will make in the airplane.

Ground instruction rate

Ground instruction is billed at $50/hr. Send an inquiry with your goal, current stage of training, and the topics you want to cover so we can make the session productive from the start.

Ground instruction questions

Is ground instruction available now?

Yes. Ground instruction is available for new students, active students, returning pilots, and pilots preparing for a written exam, flight review, or checkride.

Can we focus on one difficult topic?

Yes. A session can be built around one weak area or a broader list of questions from your current training and independent study.

Does ground instruction replace studying at home?

No. Independent study is still important. One-on-one instruction helps clarify difficult material, correct misunderstandings, and connect knowledge to practical flying.

Can I take ground instruction before my first flight?

Yes. It can give you useful context and make early flight lessons feel less overwhelming. A discovery flight is also available if you would like to experience the airplane first.
